Your hosts
We are Silvio and Kerstin, and we run the Oberamer Hof together.
We have both been involved in the hospitality industry for many years. Silvio is a trained chef and has worked in various kitchens for a long time. His passion lies in cuisine that is rooted in the region whilst leaving room for his own ideas. Swabian cuisine forms the basis – complemented by little specialities and personal touches from the kitchen.
Kerstin is a qualified hotel manager and has learnt the hospitality trade from the ground up. With plenty of experience, organisational skills and an eye for detail, she ensures that guests feel completely at home here – whether they’re coming for a meal, hosting a celebration or spending a few days at the Oberamer Hof.
We met whilst working in the hospitality industry. It soon became clear that we not only shared the same passion, but also had the same vision of what makes for good hospitality. The desire to eventually build something of our own had been with us for a long time.
With the Oberamer Hof, this dream has finally come true. Today, we run the establishment together and are delighted to welcome every guest who finds their way to us in Bondorf.
Behind us stands a dedicated team that works every day with great commitment, experience and enthusiasm to ensure our guests have a wonderful time. Together, we make sure that the kitchen, service and the establishment work hand in hand, and that every visit feels warm and uncomplicated.
The relaunch of the Oberamer Hof
After a break of around a year, we reopened the Oberamer Hof in April 2025. The traditional inn in the Bondorf district of Bad Saulgau has since been run once again as a restaurant and guesthouse.

Federsee near Bad Buchau
Federsee is only about 20 minutes away from the Oberamer Hof and is a lovely destination for a trip into the countryside. Wooden walkways lead through the moorland and reed beds, offering unique insights into the local flora and fauna. The prehistoric pile dwellings, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, show just how early this region was settled. The nearby Wackelwald offers a little adventure in nature, especially for children.

Bad Saulgau Old Town
The old town of Bad Saulgau forms the historic heart of the town. Winding alleyways radiate out from the market square, having retained their original layout to this day. As you stroll past lovingly preserved buildings, small shops and cosy cafés, you can discover the town’s history at a leisurely pace. It is often the small details that bring the special charm of bygone days to life.
Sonnenhof Therme
The Sonnenhof-Therme in Bad Saulgau offers a wide range of ways to unwind and recharge your batteries. You can enjoy the mineral-rich thermal water in several indoor and outdoor pools, whilst the varied sauna area and various wellness treatments provide further relaxation. A selection of light water-based activities also complements the offering, making your stay particularly varied.
